When Gu Yun Zheng, an associate professor of neurosurgery, goes on a medical aid mission in the (fictional) North African nation of Lakaya, he meets former student Su Wei An, a "dropout" who has abandoned her medical career to become a businessperson. From bickering all the time to falling in love with each other, he gradually discovers that her odd behavior and resistance to his advances are because she carries the gene for Huntington's disease - an incurable disease which leaves her hopeless. He decides to give up his promising career and devote his life to researching a cure for Huntington's, fighting alongside his beloved to carve light out of the darkness. |
It might take all 34 episodes for this to happen. This C-drama is a tale of a fictional country in Africa and how two doctors (well, she could have been one but she has a strange disease) come together to help the locals, do some brain surgery, and of course, fall in love. It stars our boy Lou (Leo Lou) and the most adaptable Zhang Ruo Nan. I swear she was totally different in DATE WITH THE FUTURE.
There were a lot of things I liked about her strong-willed character. And there are some adventurous moments in the romcom too. Still...you have that stoic ML that might be joking when given a chance. I felt the drama did him right compared to some C-drama I have seen of his. Although, I think my favorite of his is LIE TO LOVE or LOVE IS SWEET.
34 episodes!
ReplyDeleteThat's nice when an actress has range like that. And nice premise. I'm so behind. I'm still watching PArallel World.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see scooby Apocalypse as a film! And oh my. that's scary I imagine when someone comes in the library like that. We had a kid come to the school a few years ago in a tactical vest and sit in the library. He didn't do anything, just waited for the police. Crying for help, I think.
Isn't it funny how the holidays can do that? Make everyone on edge.
We still have a few leftovers in the fridge too. They're on their last legs... and our squirrel does that too. He was looking down through a skylight and the cats were like wooooooooo
DeleteI have the same issue with Joon and Hillier. about sex scenes. Not that they're doing tHAT, but she pushes... and I know not all my readers want to hear about that... :)
Thanks! I do enjoy your wide range of characters. Sometimes I go back to read earlier posts so I'm up on things. It feels organic.
Oh no! Hope you're not sick. Maybe the margaritas will help >
Gracias por la reseña. Tomó nota. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this sounds like a heavy one. But very compelling. Who wouldn't want to meet a dude devoted to saving their life? It's cool that you get to see so many of your favorite stars in different kinds of roles. 😍🎥✨
