It can be strange when something you have written about comes true.
Recently, I heard from a friend who was telling me about a brother who ended up in the hospital with cellulitis. And all the breathing problems he had. Granted he had let an infection go far too long and he is still struggling to get his health back.
Our oldest has actually had it twice. It seemed every time he had an infection from a work-related injury it would turn into cellulitis. But he always got help at the ER.
My husband wouldn't tell me what was really going on. It was like he would fight it all on his own. I dunno why he wouldn't go to the doctor. He couldn't sleep for I would say, months. But I knew he was changing, getting more irritable. I couldn't say certain just what he did to have it.
But from what I have noticed, for many (mostly men) who never got vaccinated for Covid and had Covid (possibly more than once) this seems to be one of the after affects. But I had not ever heard of cellulitis until the pandemic.
Naturally, if we could have just gone to the doctor earlier it would have not resulted in a 911 call. Yet sometimes, I think who I'm with loves the bizarre. And also likes to tell me, "You don't know what you're talking about."
But I knew we should have done something before now. It just went crazy. For a while, it was that "leave me alone" phase and "I'm not talking to you." We had some crazy conversations and I even got to use my ingenuity more than once trying to see the night through.
I was at the point of thinking he might really have Parkingson's. Honestly, I am thankful it was cellulitis. I did my best to let him decide what to do, but in the end I did have to call 911. I learned later that the cellulitis was on the brink of giving him congested heart failure.
He'll have to stay in the hospital to be on the mend. There is still a lot of fluid on his body that is being drained. His body is in a diabetic stage and he is on oxygen. Seriously, this was a wake-up call. I can only hope he will change his eating habits and go to the doctor.
I never heard of cellulitis poor man.
ReplyDeleteOh no! All my best to you and him! I hope he recovers quickly. that is so scary. I think my mom had cellulitis once and it was pretty serious. I had not heard of it either prior to that. All my best wishes and prayers going your way!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to see that about Doc Savage too. Hope all is going well.
