Drowning Love

I have been wanting to watch this film for years, of course it's nothing like what was going on in my imagination about it. Yes, a Japanese film from 2016 with an artsy nature from cinematography to the strange attraction of two teens in a rural community in Japan.

Although she is a teen model from Tokyo, her family wanted her to stay grounded. Also, her grandfather needed someone to take over the inn. While he is from a prominent family, he comes off as an outcast which means..don't they always fall for the bad boy?

Granted, this is Suda Masaki and he is always an original in anything he does. I do like his work, even his music is unique, but this is probably the film that made him the It Guy of Japan back in 2016. Of course, our Natsume (Komatsu) is amazing in her own right.

Yes, she's on her way to success and ripped away to a small town where she meets a guy who is so aloof. In the process, he drives her crazy to want him more.

In reality, they became a couple in 2019 and are now married and have a child of their own in 2024.

Now on Viki.

  1. The movie sounds really great! I enjoy romantic stories where the relationship develops slowly. What a cool fact! It's wonderful that the couple gets along in real life too. I wish them lots of happiness! :)
