The Boarding House - Fitz

From Greg at Book Haven

He didn't even know what he would say to her.

Sarah.

The next time he saw her. What was there to say? "Hi. Sorry I came up on you in the shower. You do have a nice ass, by the way. But I shouldn't have... done that."

Yeah, that would go over well.

She probably had told everyone else in the house, too. The other girls would kill him. Or... Kirby might. The big jarhead. And Miss Olivia... the reason he'd been in there in the first place! He'd only meant to relieve a little pressure, take a little edge off. Now...

More pressure than ever.

He was in his room, laying on the bed, trying to keep his hands busy, but his thoughts kept returning to the steamed up shower stall, and the sight of... Sarah. Her hair clinging to her back, and her sweet derriere....

What had he been thinking?

And what would she do when she saw him next?

He could apologize, of course. But he wasn't much one for that. It might keep him from getting kicked out, though. He didn't know if he could face her over dinner. Or the other girls, when they all gave him the evil glare. But... he had to face them sometime, right.

He heard purring in his ear and started, only then realizing the house cat had found its way in. His door was ajar. Down the hall he could hear the low sound of voices talking, in hushed whispers. About him? He petted the cat absently. What was it's name again? He couldn't remember, but it didn't matter. At least someone liked him.

He got up, sighing.  Maybe it was time to face the music. The cat ran out ahead of him as he grabbed his phone and made his way downstairs, heart racing. He'd get a snack. Test the lay of the land. The girls all seemed to be in their rooms, Sarah's door was slighlty ajar as well. For a moment he had the crazy thought to knock, peek his head in. Clear the air. But no. His nerves failed him at the last moment and he went downstairs. Although somewhere, in the back of his mind, he couldn't help but wonder.

"Hi Sarah. Everything okay?" He winced at how lame that would sound.

"Hey, Fitz. Sure, everything's fine." A moment of silence as they regarded each other. Then... "Do you want to come in?"

And he'd close the door...

Yeah. Right.

More likely she'd scream again.

He sighed as he made his way into the kitchen. And there she was.

Sarah.

Shit

He kept his eyes on his phone as he went to the refrigerator, although he could see her look up, heard her intake of breath.

Things just got real.
