The perfect Korean villainess🖤 and a sharpshooter at that, stealing all the scenes, too. Yes! We need more Kim Shin Rok in K-dramas! But I don't want to see her typecast. But she was marvelous! The Mom who loved her daughter yet was drugging her. The chairwoman who might as well have had a mafia at the police station. All she wanted was the gold, and she would never give up.
Kim Min Ju played the wealthy chairwoman's daughter. Her character showed the stress of being the owner of the school's daughter and getting good grade. You could feel the harshness of "class" and the power they are meant to own. The drama had it's bullying, and the writers could have taken the daughter on a different route, but I am glad they changed it up in this drama.
Park Se Hyun played the daughter's best friend. Of course, her mother disliked her and felt she was no more than a maid. Although, Hyun was smarter and a true friend. The twist in this drama is that we get a little GL story. And I would say only a smidge because most don't notice it. They were in the supporting cast. Now these days we have more BL K-dramas than ever before. While GL rarely gets a story. Maybe Asian dramas are changing. It was a gentle sismance and those are even rare in K-dramas. There used to be more of those in C-dramas, but as of late that has turned to more stories of equality.
I don't think we will be seeing GL K-dramas anytime soon. This drama did have a lot to offer. Although, sometimes you weren't sure if it was a horror or a comedy, but I liked it.
