MADDIE: OMG I CAN'T. I JUST CAN'T.
LOGAN: What do you mean? Stop shouting at me?
It was frustrating. Why was Maddie like this? Logan was home alone waiting the minutes to go online to play the game with Maddie, but she sounded furious. He guessed. Oh, it was hard to know. Sure, he had so much fun with the new Maddie at the bookstore. They actually hung out all day. Not just at the bookstore with the black cat, but they went thrifting.
It was like being in a movie! Oh, it made him smile. Trying on sun shades, buying each other hats. It still filled him with laughter. Was this what love felt like?
Oh, he thought he had that already with Maddie. They were such great friends. Funny, how he didn't feel the need to see her in real life. They were gamers. Wasn't that enough?
Yet, he felt a new all time high he'd never let him self have before, and he felt a tad guilty as he pace around his room wondering what he should text. And then they both texted at the same time.
I MET SOMEONE.
Logan didn't want this to be over with Maddie. He texted her every day.
"What do you mean?" He called her then to hear her voice.
"Oh, I don't know. It just happened," she wailed. Still he faintly realised he knew that voice from somewhere. Was he really talking to the Maddie that he knew on the game?
"I know. It happened to me today. At the bookstore."
"The bookstore?" Her question was curious.
"Yeah, I went to the bookstore."
"Which bookstore?"
"Well, it couldn't be where you are." He told her.
"What book store?"
"It was just called THE BOOKSTORE."
"THE BOOKSTORE?" Maddie questioned with a sigh. "Did you eat there?"
"Yeah, I kind of made a mess of myself."
"Oh really?"
"So?"
"Where are you really?" Maddie sounded furious.
"Uh..would..would you be so mad if..if I said I'm not in Canada," Logan winced.
"I see. You're not Canadian."
"Not for a while now," he made it sound that he wished it was with everything going on with the trade wars these days.
Maddie sighed heavily.
"I couldn't have met you today. I couldn't have...but I did meet a Logan," she told him.
"I met a new Maddie today."
Silence. Suddenly, in unison they said. "Best day ever."
