July Microfiction

WORDS: Waves. Sun-kissed. Am I the only one.

The waves kept knocking Janey down into the choppy sea. Her sun-kissed face would rise up to take a breath with ease. There was no outer bank to find as she drifted farther out in the big blue. She shuddered to think, "Am I the only one?" What if a great white circled around her was the thought that emerged as she closed her eyes, thinking this was the end, but the waves kept pushing her, and she closed her eyes, lying back to make peace, ready to part from this world. Suddenly, Janey felt the back of her head ram into something hard, and it took her breath away to be shocked she'd managed to drift into a cove.
