"Oh, you two, you're so very tight," Dakota teased Fiona about Matty.
"Speak for yourself," Fiona acted as if she should have never told her about their walk on the beach. "It wasn't exactly paradise, you know, it was freezing."
Snow was in the forecast; hopefully, it wouldn't snow here, but even Hawaii had snow in the forecast these days.
"I'm glad you're happy."
They were boy off work and trying to get to the March clearance at their favorite department store before everything was gone. Funny, how they both still loved box stores. It was great to do this together, even if they didn't really buy anything. But they might find something they had always wanted.
"So what's up with your brother's girl? I see her hanging around Ezra these days." Fiona's question took Dakota by surprise.
"Well, if anyone could be an albotrose in a relationship, it would be Cole."
Dakota gave up on trying to remind Fiona that Cole was just a baby step-brother. He would always be a baby.
"Do you think she's unhappy with him?" Fiona questioned as she looked through all sorts of clothes that were up to 70% off, and buy one get one free.
"Hard to say. I don't ask. Maybe they are in the friend zone."
"Really? Is it just the friend zone with Ezra, too?
Dakota wished she wouldn't bring Ezra up. He was a mute topic with her and Nav. "How should I know?" Dakota wanted to think the best of Lizzie, not the worst. "I know she works hard and she's with the worst slob on earth."
About then, Fiona squealed in excitement. She'd found a Teddy Coat. "We can be twinzies!" There were two in the same color. They could buy one together and get one free.
