American Horror Story - review

Granted, only the pilot has been aired on FX (Wednesdays at 10/9 or catch it on HULU - some have seen the second episode already and say they are hooked!), but the premise is ever so promising..and definitely haunting. FX American Horror Story.

Of course, its about the troubled Harmon family. They've gone through a very bad thing in the family. On top of that, the housewife catches her husband in the act with one of his students. So, why not move from the west coast..to L.A.

They find a Victorian home with the right price. The father is sold on just that. When the daughter finds out the previous owners killed themselves in the basement..she's in. Soon enough, after they move in, unwanted guests start popping up. Are they really neighbors?

The father starts taking patients at home since he's a psychiatrist, after all. His first patient is Tate played by Evan Peters. Soon enough, he notices the daughter, and they swop depressive stories and the like. Unfortunately, Dad's pretty sure Tate might be a Psycho. But then again, the dad might go psycho living in that house.

Violet has a few secrets of her own...

Bryan Murphy does it once again with that creative mind of his. Its a story you can sure get involved with. One wonders if this new family is in a house of ghosts or..are they just crazy?

Dylan McDermott is sexy and curious as the Dad. Taissa Farmiga is a newbie to the acting world. She plays Violet the daughter. I've never seen Connie Britton have such an opportunity as this to play such a complex character. Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy and the adorable Jamie Brewer are the supporting back drop of the horror involved in the show.

This is a show where the different characters might see some totally there when it isn't. Or if it is, it might look quite different from them than the other person. It has a touch of Stephen King's THE SHINING to it, except the story is set in L.A.

If you are up for something little strange and oh so character driven, you might want to give American Horror Story a chance.

STORYLINE: A family of three move from Boston to Los Angeles as a means of reconciling their past anguish. They move to a decrepit mansion, unaware that the once noble home is haunted.
