A gifted Man - TV review

A sweet surprise on Friday nights at CBS! The wonderful Patrick Wilson is the main star of A GIFTED MAN.

This is a show where spiritualism meets science. Patrick Wilson's Dr. Michael Holt is quite gifted as a nuro-surgeon. But is there something wrong with his brain? He starts seeing visions of his dead ex-wife(Jennifer Ehle). But its of the pleasant nature. She needs him to help her neighborhood which are common people compared to the ritzy life he's accustom too (in a sense). Who knows, he might really learn something from her..this time around.

On one hand, this is a hospital drama. The show does remind me of some ill-fated drama on ABC, which I can't think of the name of..but in that storyline, it was about a lawyer. The good thing is, you've got Patrick Wilson in this drama, and its great to see him playing this role.

Although, we might get tired of that smile on the wannabe Meryl Streep of a ghostly ex-wife. And its run of the mill sort of episodes. Honestly, one wonders of the greatness between rich hospitals and ordinary ones. I understand how we need escape-ism these days, but is this really the way to go?

Who knows how long this series will last. If you've need a Patrick Wilson fix catch it while you can.

Last seen on OFF THE MAP. Rachelle Lefere might should stick with vampire roles instead of doctor roles. Look for her on A GIFTED MAN.

STORYLINE: Centers on an ultra-competitive surgeon whose life is changed forever when his ex-wife dies and begins teaching him what life is all about from the here-after.
