COPPER thoughts

Not ten minutes into the first episode of Copper, and I was in love with it.  I’m not sure if it’s just because it’s different from what I’ve been watching, or that it’s a period drama, or that it’s just awesome, but I thoroughly enjoyed the pilot.
It’s also so nice to see Franka in something stateside again.  That top hat and those gloves are just perfection, and her character seems like she could turn out quite interesting.-the fashionable adventurer
Watched Copper yesterday. Now I'm hooked. What's with all the cute Irish guys? Thought this was British TV. Oh well, guys with accents are hot so I'm not complaining.-adorkable

Dr. Freeman, congratulations for being the best character on Copper. I tip my hat to you, sir.-ed
So I really love Copper so far!
It’s actually really great and I can’t wait for the next episode.
Also I’m kind of in love with  Corcoran and his friend Maguire.-scribblings

Ok, so while watching Copper I kept thinking to myself that Tom Weston-Jones as Det. Kevin Corcoran (left) bore a striking resemblance to Malcolm McDowell as Alex from A Clockwork Orange (right);anyone else see the similarity?-mermaid hair

the theme music for copper is awesome aaaaah.-brucebannerisms

First thing I noticed- the accents. I do not know if I’m the only one who noticed this, but I’ve noticed that they fluctuate between very hard British to a very deep Irish to pure typical American.
That bugs me. I do not know why. It just does. If you’re going to have a show with accents, try to at least make them genuine? Like hire an Irish man for the Irish character. A British man and lady for the British couple. Don’t just hire the random American dude who auditioned and have his accent fluctuate so much!
Second thing I noticed- the effects. I know. It’s a new TV show. It has a low budget (or so they usually do) and therefore not so great of effects. But seriously. Don’t use the Adobe After Effects typical blood splatter effect for every gunshot. It does not look good!! At least put some minimal effort into making it look more… you know… real?-dino bats

Costumes? Amazing.
Historical accuracy? Awesome.
Action? A+
Overall? I love it.

It has everything you ever need.

Irish lads and their accents.
Blood and Violence.
Hot sex. (and Corcoran’s ass)
Detectives and Cops.

Whores.
oh and… amazing facial hair.-the investigator

  1. This sounds like an awesome show - a bit reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes. :)

  2. You can definitely tell from the costume that it's not British, actually not sure of that purple skirt with that corset and tophat. It looks a bit too modern and almost fancy dress rather than period drama! However, i love the shot of the couple with the woman in the emerald green, that is stunning!
