There are lot of rants out there how this isn't a family movie. How Nick has gone too far with a PG-13 movie. How it'll bomb. Truth be told, the movie is a lot of fun.
You've got a wonderful cast. And some amazing eye-candy. Too bad, Thomas McDonnell couldn't have been it longer, but he makes a pretty convincing Jack Sparrow! Yet, it would have just been wrong if he'd been it more, of course.
I felt the movie had a lot of heart. Victoria Justice is finally in a film to show just how sweet she definitely is. She played the main character Wren who loses her little brother Albert on Halloween. Jane Levy as her best friend was quite a riot. Even Thomas Mann as nerdy Roosevelt was rather loveable.
And lets not forget Thomas Middleditch as Fuzzy. This guy had more monologues than most in the film. But then again, he was dealing with the unspeakable Albert played by Jackson Nicoll. And who would have thunk to have Chelsea Handler as Wren's Mom?
The movie has quirkiness abound. Ricki Lindhome as Galaxy Scout in costume who helps Albert out on his Halloween adventure. Of course, there is Johnny Noxville as Fuzzy's arch-nemesis.
If you don't think any of those horror movies are worth it, check this one out. Its fun and will leave you smiling.
STORYLINE: Wren's Halloween plans go awry when she's made to babysit her brother, who disappears into a sea of trick-or-treaters. With her best friend and two nerds at her side, she needs to find her brother before her mom finds out he's missing.
