Warm Bodies

I liked Warm Bodies. I realized halfway through that it was one of the only young adult films with a male protagonist that passed the Bechdel Test. The Bechdel Test was developed to determine women’s presence within a film. There are three criteria for a good score: 1) Have more than one female character 2) Have them talk to each other for more than 30 seconds 3) Talk about something other than a man. Seems simply but see how many movies actually pass. Warm Bodies does, but just barely. I thought both Teresa Palmer and Analeigh Tipton were the perfect pair to do so: hilarious, tough, and cute. The film itself was a love story between a zombie and the daughter or a militant who mission is to save the survivors and eliminate the “corpses.” Romeo and Juliet anyone? The film was fresh and fun, shot like a moving instagram picture with the music played on vinyl. It would have had my highschool self at grrrrr.-Somewhat Stephanie

This is no Zombie Twilight. Yet, its a very unlikely romance. Even so, it works. This film has a lot of heart. It even has a lot of narration too. And it works for the film. Of course, we've got the wonderful Nicholas Hoult as R and that makes all the difference in the world. We really do care about this very unusual zombie.

Teresa Palmer is definitely no Kristen Stewart, either. She was very animated in the film, even if we caught her character saying more than once in the film "What are you?"

The film possibly runs deeper with metaphors and the like than many will ever notice. And I won't even get into that. Still its a great film to watch with a date or with friends. The movie definitely has the scary factor. There are zombies, shuffling, eating human flash and then once they are so far gone..they become the bonies.

Yet, here we see how one zombie finds a 'cure' in the most unlikely way. Along the way, we find out that R likes music. He has a bit of a hoarding habit. Honestly, he'd just like to remember. Yet, by the end his last line was so lovely.

Nobody else could have pulled this off quite as well as Nick Hoult.  It just goes to show how much we need him in films. He made Teresa look even better. Of course, I've always liked her acting skills over Kristen Stewarts, any day.

Honestly, its a true romance. In spite of everything out to get them, and much of the film..they are on the run.

To be honest, I’m afraid of zombies. And, I want to know if there’s a name for fear of zombies? Zomphobia? Zombophobia? Well, the answers don’t matter now since my fear just faded—a few hours ago.
True enough, it was one of the movies I would never forget.-Josh

They’re so cute, wow :) <33
This movie was so perfect.-Paperflowers

Storyline: After R (a highly unusual zombie) saves Julie from an attack, the two form a relationship that sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.
