Its that time of year again. Letting those award winning movies out of the bag. Just in time for Christmas. With out a doubt this is quite a cast of interesting characters! Naturally, Jennifer Lawrence steals every scene.
It is a complicated con story. And the voice overs in the beginning might bother you too. But then you get to see the love story between Christian Bale's Irving and Amy Adam's complicated Sydney/Edith. These two take Bradley Cooper's FBI Richie for quite a ride.
What impressed me the most about the film were the sexy scenes that didn't even develop into sex. How Richie and Edith drive each other crazy with passion while all along its Irving who has to put up with those two and his mad house wife played by by Lawrence who accidentally gets them mixed up in the mob when she falls for the wrong guy just to get back at her husband.
Jeremy Renner plays the very 70ish Mayor wanting to rebuild Atlantic City. Honestly, he is one of the best characters of the movie.
If you are wanting to listen to some great 70's sounds, this movie has a great soundtrack. I'm so in love with LONG BLACK ROAD now. I had no idea ELO ever sang this song.
This truly is one movie that takes you for a ride. If you are needing some fun and some cleaver story-line to follow, then here you go!
STORY:A con man, Irving Rosenfeld, along with his seductive British partner, Sydney Prosser, is forced to work for a wild FBI agent, Richie DiMaso. DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia.
I loved this song in the movie too. It really captured a certain essences of the era.
