The Musketeers

BBCA is spicing up their summer lineup with THE MUSKETEERS, an original BBC show with quite a new and fresh crew for your favorite musketeers. Oh, and Luke Pasqualino is definitely Musketeer worth as D'Artagnan!

Howard Charles plays Porthos.

Santiago Cabrera plays Aramis.

Tom Burke plays Athos.

Of course, you always need a good villain and you get one with Peter Capaldi (And to think he was THE DOCTOR once!) as the Cardinal. Naturally, Maimie McCoy definitely heats things up as Milady.
The four men are an amusing band of brothers, but, oddly enough, the most engaging bond may be that of Louis XIII (Ryan Gage) and Cardinal Richelieu (Peter Capaldi). Even though Louis is weak, vain and petulant, and the Cardinal is powerful, ruthless and conniving, the actors hint at an underlying love-hate relationship that is a little surprising and almost touching.

Ryan Gage plays a very quirky King Louie, too.

The show is witty and definitely a lot of action. If you are looking for something historical on your Sunday nights, well, BBCA is the place to be.
