Milo & Ellie

Ellie was at her wit's end. Milo was taking a working vacation to the border. She didn't think something like this would be possible. But with so much going on with immigration these days, he felt certain he wanted to be a part of investigating what was really happening.

"You'll be safe here." He sounded as if he was certain she might get deported.

"But, I didn't cross the border of Mexico." She sighed, thinking he was a bit crazy. She also didn't want to stay alone with their roommate Rocco, either. If that wasn't enough, she no longer had her job as Wren's nanny, either.

What was she going to do in New York City without Milo?

"You'll be fine." He held on to her shoulders as if she would be OK. "I trust Rocco, he's like a brother to me."

Still, Ellie winced. She had enough to worry about wondering if Wren was OK in Seoul. It felt like the summer of impossibilities.

"She's fine." Milo reminded her that Violet called her most days and Wren had even called her to chat.

She guessed they were, but now she wasn't so sure about herself with Milo going away for the next few weeks.
