Writing Challenge - Your favorite memory

OK, I'm going to write about my favorite memory, just recently.

I know, I could go all cutesy and write about how I love so many parts of Sara, like her hipbone or the shape of her perfect nose and all those other physical things I crave about her.

But in all sincerity, I'm amazed to see my mother and Sara getting along.

They made FIRE CIDER just recently. Mom went to a fermentation class at the library and won a SCOBY. Strangely, Sara knew what that was and wished she'd gone to class with my Mom. So she watched mom boil up this tea and waiting forever for it to cool down before she could put the Kombucha starter in the tea and then let it ferment for 30 days in a dark place. That's when they started talking about FIRE CIDER. Next thing I know they've gone to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients after they cleaned the kitchen.

It was like a science project. Sara watched my mom with the all the chopping of onions and garlic. She's a bit of a newbie in the kitchen, which is OK with me. But she really worked hard with my Mom, to get all the veg ready, put in a jar, just to pour raw apple cider vinegar over. They had enough for two jars. One for my parents. One for us.

Finally, I realized we were a real family. Even if we are a quirky one.
