Valentine's Day is coming

Of course, dressing up and going out is a seldom thing here in the dead of winter. But we have ruffed it a few times to go out then to wonder if we'll get back home when a snowstorm arrives. Some of those times, we would make reservations in advance so we felt we had to go. But these days with egg prices on the rise, well even brunch is expensive.

Now that I'm older, it's more cooking at home. And we are a team when it comes to lobster and steak. Although, I don't think that's even on the menu this year. Still, I will have to admit I don't really have to have flowers. On the other hand, chocolate-dipped strawberries are one thing I can always handle more of.

Here's to having a mighty fine time on Valentine's day. Even if it's making your own veggie omelet and hearing, "Oh, it looks beautiful!" Seriously, it is the little things that make things better.

  2. Staying in for Valentine's Day sounds lovely! Home is, after all, where the heart is. What you say about appreciating the simplicity and intimacy of a homecooked meal is so true. And the ready for red collage is fantastic! πŸ’–πŸ’ŒπŸ’ŸπŸ’
