Our Farmer's market opened Saturday. And it was amazingly crowded on our hometown park square. Although it was humid and something about being in the crowd made me a little sick, I didn't get in as much fun as I wanted. I raced to the bathroom thinking I needed to go just to find out I didn't. I felt as if I might be trapped in the restroom..as it was, there was only one restroom for women which shocked me.
We got our favorite burritos, which was a nice treat. The owners told us they would be there every Saturday this summer, rain or shine.
Earlier this week, I got drenched in the rain getting to my car after work (I almost ruined a new book but managed to salvage it in front of the fan at home). It was a pleasant yet crazy surprise. I had never been so drenched. I had to change clothes once I got home because somebody promised Wagyu steakhouse burgers from Arby's.
Of course, I was inspired by a couple in front of me when we got there in line. She had her arms around her from behind, evidently, the other was cold from the rain and they were an older couple with infectious laughter looking at the menu and one looked back, "Oh look, there is somebody behind us, we should let her order." Of course, they asked what I was ordering they couldn't decide. So I told them about the Japanese burgers, and we got to order ahead of them. Later, we sat in the booth in front of them. Come to find out they'd been in the military together. They both are hard of hearing so they were exceptionally loud. They talked about their kids and husbands and people they used to work with.
The Wagyu burgers do have fresh toppings. The sauce is a little sweet for my taste on the original burger but the one with bacon has ranch sauce on it. It was a nice change. I felt they hold up pretty well with the bun that it's on. Personally, I would rather have Whataburger.
As in Barbie Adventures. I have probably done more shopping than I should have. Although, my Made to Move redhead is with a co-worker who actually designs dolls. Nic said he would see if he could switch heads with the Asian Barbie that has the same skin tone. Also, the curvy's chest came undone when I was trying to switch heads to make a OOAK Barbie.
Of course, the Asian Barbie I found a few years back was a 5 dollar doll at Dollar General. And I really am not certain I want her to be a curvy. But if it can be done, that would be great. Meanwhile, I was searching on Amazon for a replacement, or someplace else (with no luck) and found that the doll is now about 14 bucks. It seems to be the favorite Asian Barbie with most. From what I hear many Asian girls (or possibly their moms) identify with this doll. I ended up buying a cheaper Fashionista Tall Asian Barbie as well as a pink-haired Barbie with a gift card I had.
I guess the worst part about this sort of Barbie passion is never being completely satisfied and well, one thing leads to another. Since immediately, I wanted these Barbies to be poseable. So I found myself in Walmart looking to see if I could get inspired. Which of course, lead to more Barbies (2 dolls). Although, I didn't find made-to-move Barbies. Still, there is actually the older generation of made-to-move at a cheaper price, yet Matel is using them in new lines of Barbies. I guess with fresh heads. And some come with a cool wardrobe too. I picked one who's skin tone was off, but I really felt her face had so much character.
Of course, I have watched scads of YouTube videos to learn more about head swaps. I was determined to figure this out on my own and yes, a little knife is helpful in the operation. On top of that, I found the Green Top Made-To-Move on sale at Target. And I was able to make a few switches that I am glad to have worked out. Unfortunately, I'm not doing very well with my sewing skills..but I will keep trying.
Very interesting 😊
ReplyDeleteSounds good
ReplyDeleteOh no sorry tohear you weren't feeling good. The burritos though- was that a food truck? You have me really curious about these steakburgers at Arby's too. I like Arby's sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea there was so much Barbie variety! My kids watched a ton of those Barbie movies and they might have swapped body parts out too. I still go around saying "smooth move, Racquel" from time to time. Trilling the R of course
Genial te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteWow, you've been busy! That's terrible about the farmers market; getting sick away from home is the worst. I'm glad that you got to enjoy the burritos, though. And that you salvaged your book from the surprise downpour at work! It's cool that you made friends with the couple at Arby's. Not that it was a surprise, as you seem so good with people. Finally, your adventures in Barbie-land sound so fun! And involved! I had no idea that head swapping. etc., was a thing. I love the pictures you included, especially the second one with the funky hairstyles. I'm sure you're being too hard on yourself about the sewing.🌯📘🍔👗👩
