Best Choice Ever

 

It's a Chinese Drama about family. About a girl who keeps getting the run around with her rich boyfriend who has told her for three years that he's a struggling game designer. And she's even given him money. But as luck would have it, her new boss (who fired her the first day they met, but she somehow showed all her Girl Friday Skills as he gets wind that her boyfriend is the son of someone they could really need help from in the company) is slowly warming up to her. Even if everyone is thinking..oh go for the rich boyfriend even if she is terribly upset with him.

The script is good. For the most part, the characters are good. And then we have the mother who is as annoying as they come wanting her daughter to step up in the world by marrying someone rich. It is a blended family story too. The grandmother has been married twice and she brings her step-granddaughter and her grandson together.

What I enjoyed the most about watching this drama was seeing the old apartments and how the layouts are built [Windows inside the house]. Also, there is a lot of community. There is a group of ladies in the park getting in their steps with dancing using scarves and fans.  It is a reminder of those older customs in the modern world. And family is always important with good food, and wanting the next generation to find happiness and success with a good job and of course, marriage. Now on Viki. It is based on the novel BEST CHOICE EVER. And starring two of my favorites! Yang Zi and Xu Kai!
