Ivy and Ellie: Bunheads

ABC Family's Bunheads is being called the new Gilmore girls. Maybe its all that girl friendship, and girl's night out, or the fact that Michelle (Sutton Foster) the main character is as funny as Lorelai Gilmore.

- Hi! How’s Boris?
-Your car? I thought you named it Kyle.
- No, that was a boyfriend.
- Kyle wasn’t a car?
- He had Miles on him, but he was human.

Sutton Foster is an accomplished Tony winner. She's a singer ...a dancer..and..well..a performer, most definitely.

She's been teamed up with Stacey Oristano as Truly (the woman obsessed with Michelle's late husband.) Add Kelly Bishop as Michelle's new mother-in-law Fanny Flowers as the foundation of the story. These three trying to get over the death of Michelle's new husband, and keeping Fanny Flower's ballet school a float.

This is a great dance number!

Amy Sharman who created the show is the creator of Gilmore Girls, so there is a lot of quirkiness.

The show has fresh faces too. This is Julia Goldani Telles first role on TV, but she's a wonderful actress as Sasha. Julia is also a great ballerina.

Emma Dumont has done a little TV, but its great to see her dancing moves on the show, as well. She is showing some true colors as Melanie.

I keep seeing a lot of posts/confessions complaining that Boo isn’t fat/big.
No, to the general population she is very thin, and few will deny beautiful. Unfortunately for Boo, she doesn’t have a dancer body. Tall, thin, long neck and legs. Boo has a normal body, and it is difficult for her because people assume she won’t be able to dance as well as, say, Sasha, (who has the epitome of a dancer’s body) and therefore don’t look at her for parts/scholarships. Which is ridiculous because she’s one of the best dancers in the show, but that’s theatre.

There is Boo (Kaitlyn Jenkins) who wants to dance, but feels she has a weight problem. To some she might be the doormat of the friendship of girls, but still she can usually get them to do the right thing.
