The Lost City (2022)

A reclusive romance novelist on a book tour with her cover model gets swept up in a kidnapping attempt that lands them both in a cutthroat jungle adventure

Oh, it felt like going on spring break, just to go to the movies because after all it's been ages since I've been to a movie theater, but we took our chances, and we were happy we did. The movie won't pick your mind. It's a popcorn movie with lots of great character actors.

I  loved Daniel Radcliff as the archnemesis with the gender-neutral name Abigail. Beth (Da'Vine Joy Randolph) was outrageous as the romance writer's manager. And Oscar Nunez as Oscar the guy who had a plane and a goat named Randy really made this film work.

It was good to see our sexy boy Channing Tatum in a down-to-earth role. I loved him dancing with the local village woman. Oh yeah, he can put on the moves..even with Sandra. There were times, I thought..oh if they were in a Chinese drama and they found a waterfall, that's a sure sign and a great time to cultivate, but then I  had to remember..oh yeah, that won't happen here.

In all, need a little getaway..well, here you go. Although, in our theater, we got in on a discount, yet because of new movie screens we were charged for that so the going to see a film these days is ten bucks and up. And don't get me started on snacks. There is always a catch. Spend twenty-five bucks for the year just to pay 5 bucks every time you come in with your bucket to fill up on popcorn.

  2. I haven't been to a movie in ages! I'm glad you braved it and had a good time, despite the highway robbery snacks. The Lost city looks fun; I love that Sandra's character is an eccentric recluse. And I didn't know Oscar Nunez was in it; now I want to see it even more! Thanks for such an entertaining review about this prime "popcorn" movie. :)

    1. Oh, Nunez is so clever and so under-rated. It is hard to find a movie I want to go see, too. But it was good to go back to the theater. My friend kept hitting me during any exciting part. It was weird, I had forgotten about that.
