In search of a good bed with usually someone in it (Dans Paris 2006) |
While getting in to THE PARIS APARTMENT by Lucy Foley I start to think about to one of my favorite French films with, of course, Louis Garrel. It is about the apartment life too. Although nothing intriguing really happens yet you get an inside look of modern French family life. You see, having prime real estate is a dream for many there. Once you find it. You don't leave it.
The story revolves around a father and two sons and of course, one bed. And it is not a good thing when the older brother comes back depressed about his breakup. So the younger brother (Garrel) really would like a place to sleep, but somehow sex is always involved.
Honestly, I really loved that old apartment. So much so I've even had reoccurring dreams of being there. I'm not quite sure I get that vibe in THE PARIS APARTMENT, but I see there aren't enough beds there either. Of course, I come from a family who would sneak a bed in the room any chance they got. Not saying they were the best beds in the world, but my grandmother could have put up strangers if she'd wanted to.
Sounds good
ReplyDeleteHola! un post interesante. Besos
ReplyDeleteBuen fragmento. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteA shortage of beds could cause all kinds of problems! Your grandmother sounds like a smart lady, making sure that was never an issue at your house. Anyway, "the apartment life" sounds interesting, if a little stressful. I always thought it would be weird to live in a city and have to go that route instead of being in a house. Different strokes for different folks, I guess!
