What better way to start the year than with a bit of history. Truly Joan of Arc is quite interesting. Especially, to rise to fame in a starving country in 1412. She was a product of a violent world. Even so, she still had to walk a tightrope between the people and those who owned the kingdom. It was never easy being Joan of Arc. Chen brings a down-to-earth Joan, who was out for revenge after her sister was assaulted by 3 Englishman. While others found her strength, her own family shunned her. Chen really goes in depth in this historical novel. |
I like the history :D
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. 1412 is a long time ago
ReplyDeleteHistorical fiction used to be my favorite! This addition to the genre sounds intriguing.

Really, it's a very violent story, but also one of courage. Hugs

ReplyDeleteThis sounds fascinating! I always loved that Joan of Arc was a fellow Capricorn. Now, if only I had a modicum of her bravery! 😁
