It's not your everyday Chinese mystery. It has to do with a part-time fortune teller who makes a sum from her celebrity friends. Unfortunately, a friend is murdered. And she and the actor (who was also friends with this rich friend) have teamed up to solve the WHODUNIT since they are being framed. With the help of the police, they get to do some investigating.
Seriously, it is rather off-beat and fun. It's been in the vault for some time now. It was made in 2018. It really gives a vibe of how the Chinese weren't so serious in their censorship back then which is pretty sweet. Fans have been waiting for Ming Duo in the lead and Jiang Kai Tong knows out to bring the ditzy ever so charming as the female lead. It's fast-paced! And I'm glad it's on VIKI (✿◡‿◡).

I'm still mulling where to eat. :) We went to eat at Logan's Roadhouse with my mom and unfortunately the steak wasn't great, but we're gonna go somewhere when the kids are here. Or maybe I should get Chinese. I'm glad it's warm there (or warmer). And that poor cat! I hope it's okay :)

ReplyDeleteThat is interesting about the librarian. And Midnight Diner! I watched the first episode of the Japanese show but haven't seen the chinese version. I love the idea of a place open midnight to dawn, and off the beaten path somewhere in shanghai!
