Imogen Scott may be hopelessly heterosexual, but she’s got the World’s Greatest Ally title locked down.
She's never missed a Pride Alliance meeting. She knows more about queer media discourse than her very queer little sister. She even has two queer best friends. There's Gretchen, a fellow high school senior, who helps keep Imogen's biases in check. And then there's Lili—newly out and newly thriving with a cool new squad of queer college friends.
Imogen's thrilled for Lili. Any ally would be. And now that she's finally visiting Lili on campus, she's bringing her ally A game. Any support Lili needs, Imogen's all in.
Even if that means bending the truth, just a little. |
I had been waiting for this little masterpiece by Becky A. After all, she's like the new Jon Green for many with her other books. And it is a personal book for her as well. To many a book long overdue.
Evidently, I am not the target audience. It really fell flat for me. I didn't find the dialogue engaging and I felt as if maybe there was a certain agenda that surfaced and that was all that mattered. Not so much the characters. Although, I am sure this is a perfect read for those who know what this author is going through.
Too bad it disappointed it had an interesting idea
ReplyDeleteOh I'm sorry to hear that. It's tough when an awaited book doesn't hit right
ReplyDeleteUy que pena que no te gusto. Gracias por la reseña lo dejo pasar. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteI recently read a couple of books that disappointed me too. I hate when that happens! But as you say, maybe this one will speak to someone who needs it. 📕📙📒📗📘
