The Beach House ๐ŸŒธ Beth

Well, Beth could have slept til noon if she wanted, but Louisa left before dawn. Actually, Beth wasn't even sure when she left. She guessed it had to do with Thelma's schedule.

She text her when she sat down to her morning coffee, "Is everything OK?"

Of course, Beth didn't hear anything. Then a knock on the door came and Jasper's ears perked up. He went to the door in silence.

Beth tilted her head, thinking that was strange. Jasper usually barked. Maybe it was Louisa, Beth thought as she jumped up in her tank and sweat pant shorts. She wrapped her loose kimono around her.

"Well, look who it is?" She gave Roco the eye as he petted Jasper. Of course, they were friends. She should have expected this.

She went on to the kitchen to get Roco a cup of coffee. He sat down at the dining table as if he expected service.

"And what might you be up to?" He said he saw her last night.

"Last night?" Her forehead wrinkled. She couldn't imagine when. She sat down his coffee and got out the milk too.

"I saw you at the wine bar," Roco was even-lipped as he looked Beth over.

"Then..then why didn't you come over?" She wanted to know.

"You looked busy," he stretched his neck just a bit as if he was slightly peeved.

"Busy?" She squinted with a look.

He nodded.

"Where were you?" She just couldn't imagine him there. Of course, it was dark in the bar.

"I was playing the piano," he smiled.

She took a drink of her coffee. She didn't care. Maybe she didn't even believe him.

"I asked the neighbors about you. They don't know any Roco." She told him.

He only shrugged indifferently. "I'm around."

"Let's hope." She looked him in the eye as he sipped his milked coffee.

"Got any eggs?" He wanted to know.

"Are you going to make breakfast?" She gave him a deadpan look.

"I could," he told her.

"Fine."

"You need some of my scrambled eggs," Roco got up and went to the kitchen.

She didn't think he would do it. Of course, he cracked about four eggs and put them in a sea of almost hot butter, and went to town with a fork in the metal skillet. It was the noisest thing she ever heard. The scraping made her ears hurt. And the mess, oh so messy!

However, the scrambled mess came out just right, and there was toast. Maybe he was right, she did need breakfast.

  4. That's so weird that Roco was the piano player at the bar! And that he didn't want to interrupt Beth and Louisa but is now making Beth breakfast. My favorite part is when Beth says no one's heard of him and he says "he's around." It's so . . . unbothered and funny and nonchalant, speaking volumes about what Roco is like. Very interesting! ๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿงˆ๐Ÿณ

Thanks so much for including my rainbow fabric in the collage! I especially love the little pink elephant perched on it! ๐ŸŽ€๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒˆ
