The Beach House🌸Rachel

 

Huck just about lost it when he saw Rachel with that guy, he didn't want to speak of.

It was hard to stay his stoic self. Of course, the crowd he was with just didn't understand why he'd want to surf anyway. Wasn't he just a skater boy?

"Hey, man, you look half asleep," one of his buds told him with a slap on the back. They were trying to see what he was seeing. Of course, it was invisible to them.

"Do I?" Huck didn't know it. Possibly he was in a trance. What was it that he felt for Rachel? His face tensed. He had to go to her. He had to let her know.

Of course, he didn't know what he wanted her to know. But he left the gang behind. He didn't even take his skateboard. Had he lost it entirely? No, he took one step and then another, and he was there as if to take her away from her fun day with the blonde surfer dude.

He winced. She just couldn't be that into him, could she?

"Hey, what are you doing here?" He cracked a smile. Perhaps, a little too giddy for his own good, but he didn't care.

"Mate, you've been keeping her hostage at that surf shop," her gallant chaperon let him know.

"Me?" Huck shrugged with half a laugh. "I have nothing to do with that."

Rachel watched Huck with a dead serious glare as if he was just putting on a show. He knew she could see right through him, but he took her hand as if they were more than just housemates, but she didn't smile even if he did draw her in and put his arm around her.

She remained even-lipped as if she was a hard shell to crack. Maybe that's what he liked about her. His shell was just as hard. Were they only two peas in a pod?

"When this," he sighed as if he didn't know what to exactly say, "This meet is over, we..are.. going to Disneyland."

She looked at him with a laugh. She might as well have said, "When pigs fly!"

"We are gonna do it," Huck smiled as if he owned it. "We might have to steal somebody's jeep, but I'm gonna make it happen."
