So what's up with you and Maddie?
CADE: Yeah, I'd really like to know too?
RAFE: Just nothing. (he shrugs) I mean, she's a bit indifferent. Can't say I've come across anyone like her. (He stares blankly) Besides, I just got over a very crazy summer with somebody..who I thought was crazy about me. (He sits up and hugs himself as he sits by his twin brother Cade. Rafe gives his brother a look out of the corner of his eye before he says anymore) I mean, it was the best and worst of times. (he presses his lips tight) It was really exhausting, but you know, I..I learned a lot.
CADE: Yeah, I bet you did (Cade gives him a dead stare)
RAFE: About myself. (he shrugs and almost smiles and then he yawns as if this is all so boring) I don't really know what's going on with Maddie. I mean, we got wrapped up with the band stuff soon enough after Chili practically threw us together. (He grits a wince) What's up with that, you know. (He sighs) I really wanted something to happen with her.
CADE: Oh, so you could learn more about yourself. (He nods)
RAFE: (gives Cade a look that he wouldn't understand where he was coming from) Stop saying that. (He winces) OK, I thought I owed Chili to be nice to her. I mean, Maddie's new in tow. She's an Air Force brat. And I know KC is being all, you know, I hate everybody attitude.
CADE: Aren't you like that?
RAFE: No. (he squints hard) I'm not. I'm not ..doing anything. I just guess we..we get along. It's all so temporary, you know. Maybe, the timing is all wrong. (he nods) Yeah, I think that's it. (he shrugs) Maybe we'll be friends.
"the best and worst of times" Yes relationships can be like that, especially when you're young. And ooh this ties in with Chili and Maddie! It took me aminute, I recognized Chili right away but then Maddie... *remembering last weeks installment* I wonder if they'll stay together...
ReplyDeleteI've always been a huge fan of Whitesnake. Saw them in concert, and this week's lyric is from a band that toured with them ( I saw 'em together). I hope next week you'll be like "oh, THEM" ha ha ha ha
I didn't know that about the personality either. And I could use more pub trivias... :)

DeleteI really like the relationship between Nic and Tristan. Especially now. Tristan is s ointeresting because he las layers. and now with the distance thing.
I didn't realize Whitesnake had so many shows they were in. Cobra Kai though. I still remember when they used Def Leppard at the end of S2 (or S3?) I've never seen Still though...
I love the give and take between Cade and Rafe! And Cade is particularly funny -- even if it's at Rafe's expense. 😏🎵💖
