So what does Thanksgiving mean to you?
WEEZER: Well, I wouldn't say it's religious, but my dad always made me feel it was that way while growing up. I mean, to him, it was like giving back, or sharing is caring, you know. We would all go down to the homeless shelter and help out in the morning and later we would have Thanksgiving at home. (he shrugs and looks to Nonnie as if she needs to say something).
NONNIE: Oh..well, my Granny's sweet potato pie (she smiles) I just wish I knew her secret ingredient, but she would never tell me. Thanksgiving was always a time when we would get together with cousins and friends. It was quaint and lots to eat. (she nods with a calm smile)
TRISTAN: Deer hunting, (he shrugs) well not all the time, but when we would see my mom's family back in Texas. I don't think she ever liked Thanksgiving much. She was always cooking and it was kind of never-ending how she would help with the food, then clean and then be ready to cut venison and package it. Really, our best Thanksgivings were with friends when I was growing up. (he smiles)
DELIA: It was mainly just watching the parade, (she softly laughs) Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. It was fun to see which popstars would be singing. Later we would watch Best in Show Dog Show. We always had a late Thanksgiving dinner and well, I've never really liked turkey or stuffing. Just mashed potatoes and the green bean casserole for me. Yeah, we just liked taking a nap afterwards and could hardly wait to hit the stores on Black Friday...back in the day when you couldn't wait for your favorite DVD to be on sale. (She chuckles)
ROXANNE: Oh, I don't know if it's appropriate to talk about it or not, (Rox smiles) Well, there was that one time that our cocker spaniel tore through the screen door because he didn't like my mom's boyfriend. Really, Dusty was a good judge of character. (she sighs) I dunno, I did like to do some wine tasting. (she smiled) It was really fun until I had to throw up. (Rox keeps smiling with a shrug)
ELVIS: We didn't really ever have Thanksgiving on our own. (Elvis is straight-lipped as he hugs himself) We just watched TV at a motel. We couldn't really cook at a motel, you know. But occasionally, somebody would invite us over. I mean, it's nice to celebrate together. (he nods) And I'm glad to be here with everyone who cooked this Thanksgiving dinner. I think I'm ready for cheesecake though, (He looks to Rox and smiles). Nobody's ever made me cheesecake before.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks as always for your comments and have a wonderful day!
Thanks! I had actually did this earlier in the week and then pulled it..thinking the timing was all wrong. Hope you have a restful Thanksgiving weekend!
DeleteI loved hearing the gang's Thanksgiving thoughts! They were all so poignant, albeit in different ways. I especially liked Weezer's. And, yes, Rox's. Because you can't have Thanksgiving without inappropriate. 🍗🌽🍷🥧
