It was kind of an interesting weekend. Although, I stayed in and wrote on many things and did what I love to do on a Saturday. Stay busy and yet not really.
I got a message from a writer friend I know. I always thought we weren't compatible, but she texted from the hospital room. She was being induced.
I was elated to hear from her, but I am sure she did it out of boredom. We are not entirely in sync when writing together. Thus, we just can't make it work. But we still do some sort of writing. I'll find a "prototype" and she comes up with her character and I come up with mine.
Naturally, she loves romance and her 'Rowan' gushs with romantic notions..while my "Elvis" is one of kind, naturally..to the point..can he even be trusted?
I did find out that her Rowan is a lot like her partner (the baby's dad) and it was good to find that out. I'm glad he's with her during this ordeal. I did my best to be optimistic. I didn't want to tell her all my birthing stories. And oh..it can be quite a party when you get us all together to tell a tale of deliveries. Hopefully, she will have a tale to tell me soon.
Later in the day, I did come upon the coconut cream in the fridge that might be going bad. Naturally, I made myself something in the mixer that filled my drink glass 4 times..Oh yeah, I was tipsy all right. Also, I was in shock that I didn't get really bad off after my Friday drink due to a sort of cold. So I was bold with the coconut cream Saturday afternoon.
I am sure no one will find this interesting, but while Barbie hunting at ROSS I found a steal..Wheel Chair Ken for Gabe. Since his sister has Wheel Chair Barbie ...I can only think of the possible races to happen. I also made a made to move Teacher Barbie so I think I have Christmas just about wrapped up. Of course, Friday I had to get to TARGET and pick up another Soccer MTM Barbie for my Teacher Barbie. Also I did a few headswaps so now once upon OAK Curvy is now on a regular Barbie. And I was totally in love with a shirt I made for a Barbie doll out of a stray gray sock. Perhaps, I'm getting a little better at my sewing.
Meanwhile, I am finding all sorts of reasons not to show up for the Writer's Group. But I am hoping those who attend are getting what they need. I'm just not sure it's for me.
Nice to catch up with a friend -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI might have to try the coconut cream. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I was almost done with Christmas! I've barely started. Everything is off this year. But we have our first party this weekend. :(
It's such a busy time of year, I don't blame you for not wanting to go if you're not feeling it.
S maybe I should watch for Depeche Mode lyrics in the stories? "_
Oh, you might have noticed with that last one with Roxanne..although I changed up the last word.
DeleteThe party this weekend is at my niece's and there's already drama between my wife and mom over what to get. Ah, the holidays! :)
DeleteSi no quieres ir no vayas. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteStaying busy and yet not really is the best, especially on Saturdays! And that's crazy that your semi-estranged writing friend got in touch when she was just about to give birth! It sounds like something straight out of one of your stories. By the way, I find your Ken find at ROSS of the utmost interest. Is there any thrill quite like that of a successful shopping hunt? And as you say, I'm sure the races between Wheelchair Ken and Barbie will be epic! Here's to many more Barbie -- and bargain-hunting! -- adventures. π€ππ
ReplyDeleteAs always, thanks so much for including my yellow fabric in the collage! It makes me happy to see it! π
