The Winter of our Discontent 2024

 

As if I've had any warm and cozy indoor fun! Not likely! Yesterday was a day of cars not starting, and chunks of snow in the driveway. Icy noses and frozen fingers that couldn't handle the windchill all that long. Yeap, it can make you old. But that is part of an unpredictable winter in the Heartland. 

Oh, some things I've seen in the past. Broken trees trying to break down my door. Snowy streets that make fishtailing quite an experience. Yes, winter is full of adventure. But it certainly gets old, soon enough with drippy noses and watery eyes and almost going blind from the white snow from the devious sun. 

I made myself some hot chocolate..and this is all Chocolate for the most part. It helps to microwave your chocolate bar (80% cocoa) with a 1/4 c. water along with some....I'd say a heavy 1/4 c. chocolate chips. As you go add a little milk and half and half. No need to go a full cup of chocolate, a little goes a long way. Add a dash of cinnamon and WOW! A winter chocolate treat. It will definitely warm you up and it stays pretty hot in the cup for a while too!

Yes, I cleared sidewalks, steps up to the house and the drive way too. It was a high of 6 yesterday.
