Wade & Ren Part 21

"You're the bestest!" Roni couldn't help but give Wade a hug from behind. He'd never been happier. Yes, he could run the coffee bar at the old bookstore! It was for eight hours a day. He couldn't ask for more. It was his dream job!

He was still in shock at how Wade chatted him up to Miss Lily. Roni beamed with excitement. It was a new day. Oh, if only he'd listened to Sabrina carefully, he would have believed in Wade more. Yes, just like Sabrina said, "Wade and Ren are equal. They both love you."

It felt good to be loved because he thought he never had that in his life. He wasn't someone his mother was happy with. He didn't mean to be so complicated. Yet, right now he felt as if he was living his best life ever. So he went to work with a smile and made all the hot drinks he knew of, including a creamy Hot Chocolate.

"Oh Baby, you do have the touch!" Miss Lily said first thing when he brought her Hot Chocolate with just a touch of cinnamon. She gave him a tight hug and lip-smacked him on the cheek.

Roni wasn't sure how to react. He thought he might not be able to breathe, but of course, Ren was there to catch him. She put her arm around his shoulder.

"See how great you are to the place?" She smiled so sweetly. It was like a dream. What if it was all a dream?

Roni blinked twice as he looked around the old bookstore. There were the regulars. He knew instantly what they would want, mostly a fresh cup of hot coffee. Of course, he didn't need the K-cups. He was brilliant with pour-overs. If only there was an oven, he would have been busy making fresh cookies.

Of course, he wished he could have brought Sabrina, but Wade told him he needed to go solo at least on the first day, so he agreed.

Yet, he was worried about her being so alone out in the wilderness. Would she really be OK, home alone?
